Kamonyi District, Rwanda – June 30, 2024
A delegation from Kamonyi District, accompanied by ARDE/KUBAHO staff, visited the site of the Mugina WASH phase project to assess its progress and address any challenges faced. The project, which commenced on October 1, 2023, is an ambitious initiative aimed at improving water access and hygiene in the region.
The Mugina WASH phase project involves the construction of a comprehensive water pumping system. Spanning 6.8 kilometers, the system will feature two water tanks—an 80 cubic meter suction tank and a 120 cubic meter distribution tank. Additionally, the project includes four water kiosks, taps for two schools (EP Gishari and EP Nyagisozi), a pumping house, a security house, ecosan toilets, seven valve chambers, and water supply to two cells, Nteko (Ntasi, Kona, Gishari, Nyagisozi) and Mbati (Kigorora cell).
