Kamonyi District — On the 19th Nov 2025, in commemoration of World Toilet Day, stakeholders gathered in Mugina Sector to celebrate the official inauguration of the second phase of the Mugina WASH Project, currently being implemented in Nteko and Mbati Cells.
The event was officiated by the Ambassador of Germany in Rwanda, who served as the Guest of Honor. Also in attendance were the Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs for Kamonyi District, representatives from Sign of Hope; the project’s implementing partner; alongside local authorities and community members.
During the ceremony, guests toured the newly completed WASH facilities, took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and listened to testimonies from beneficiaries whose lives have already been improved by the project. Hygiene clubs delivered engaging presentations, and the community showcased vibrant cultural performances to mark the achievement.
All partners expressed deep appreciation for this significant milestone, highlighting its vital contribution to improving sanitation, hygiene, and overall well-being in Kamonyi District.
