Celebrating Success: Community Water Project in Muhanga Transforms Lives

Muhanga, Rwanda** – In a heartwarming celebration of progress, friends of Nancy Uslan, founder of NEU Global Water, recently visited the Gahondo community in Muhanga district to commemorate the impactful changes brought about by a water supply project initiated in 2014-2015.

This project, developed in partnership with ARDE/KUBAHO, aimed to improve the living conditions for a small community of historically marginalized individuals. Three years after the project’s launch, the positive effects are evident. During the visit, Ellen and her team from the United States engaged in lively discussions with the ARDE/KUBAHO team and project beneficiaries.

The atmosphere was filled with joy as they shared stories, danced, and celebrated the success of the water project, which has significantly improved the community’s quality of life. The ARDE/KUBAHO team and the beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Nancy and her supporters for their commitment to the project.

They emphasized the importance of this partnership and expressed hopes for continued collaboration to further enhance the community’s well-being. Jeanne, the manager of the water kiosk, shared her experience, stating, “With the project, we are clean from our bodies to our clothes.

Our children no longer delay in the morning when going to school.” She extended a special thank you to Nancy for the water provided and expressed the community’s desire for future support in areas such as food security and job creation, which remain significant challenges.

The visit not only highlighted the success of the water supply initiative but also strengthened the bond between the community and its supporters, paving the way for future endeavors aimed at improving the lives of those in Gahondo.
