Empowering Communities: Capacity Building for Water Sustainability in Musanze District

On the 24th Feb,2026 we successfully conducted a capacity-building training for Water User Committees from the Kansoro and Riboneye villages in Musanze District for the project spearheaded by ARDE/KUBAHO in partnership with WASAC and Musanze District and supported by #NeuGLOBAL

This project established a water pipeline stretching more than two kilometers and constructed two modern water kiosks to serve the population. The focus of the training was clear: strengthening the management of our water infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability and improved community welfare.

Key takeaways included:

•Financial Accountability: Ensuring timely payments to WASAC to avoid arrears. •Infrastructure Oversight: Proactive monitoring and maintenance of water points. •Public Health: Leading hygiene campaigns to eradicate sanitation-related diseases.

•Policy Alignment: Deepening the understanding of Rwanda’s Water and Sanitation Policy.

A special thanks to the senior officials from WASAC and Musanze District for joining us in this effort. Together, we are ensuring clean water is managed by the community, for the community.
