BACKGROUND
Association Rwandaise pour le Developpement Endogene (ARDE/KUBAHO) is a Rwandan non-profit organization that works for the well-being of particularly disadvantaged population groups. The mission of the organization is to promote and stimulate sustainable socio-economic development and thrive on endogenous Sustainable development. ARDE’s guiding principle is the promotion of local initiatives, which in turn are the result of local needs. Sustainable and effective participation, as well as ownership by the participating population, are at the forefront. ARDE/KUBAHO is active throughout the country. The geographical focus of its activities to date has been in the Kamonyi District, in the Southern Province. Its work focuses on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), Community Livelihoods and Humanitarian Actions; Sustainable Agriculture, and Environmental Protection. Recently, ARDE/ KUBAHO has opened the doors for trans-border’s projects for the promotion of human rights and peacebuilding in the Greatlakes region.
Since the year 2016, ARDE/KUBAHO entered into a partnership with a German NGO to implement a WASH project in Ntebe, one year later in Kigarama both villages from Rugalika sector Kamonyi district in which, a water source was captured and stored to serve the surrounding community, an extension of 2.1km and 3 km of pipeline, 6 water kiosks two water tanks of 100 cubic meters to serve more than 6,000 people in both villages. Following the success of the project in Rugalika, a suggestion was raised to extend to remote area of Kamonyi district, in Mugina Sector where people had less hygiene practices due to the inaccessibility to water and sanitation facilities. The only water sources they had was marshland and Nyabarongo River. Using the Kona water source, a gravity system of 6.6km, kiosks, tanks, and public and private sanitation facilities were constructed in three villages of Nteko cell to serve more than 947 families. This project started in 2020 and completed in December 2023. However, Mugina has yet in need of access to water and sanitation including poor hygiene practices among people out of the ongoing project.
In order to achieve the project objectives and ensure sustainability, ARDE/KUBAHO is recruiting a company that will perform the following activities:
Lot1: the Extension of the water pipeline by approx. 2 km, construction of an additional water kiosk in Nyagisozi, construction of an additional public tap in Kona, construction of three valve chambers,
Lot2: Construction of 15 additional Ecosan latrines for selected vulnerable families ni Nteko and Mbati cells of Mugina Sector.
OBJECTIVE OF THE TENDER
The main objective is to provide a quotation on the Extension of the water pipeline by approx. 2 km, construction of an additional water kiosk in Kona, construction of an additional public tap in Nyagisozi, construction of three valve chambers, construction of 15 additional Ecosan latrines for particularly needy households.
TIMELINE
The successful bidders will work under the guidance of ARDE/KUBAHO and partners: Sign of Hope and the district of Kamonyi.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The companies are expected to operate in Rwanda preferable in WASH projects.
To be registered in Rwanda development board (RDB), tax clearance certificate and VAT certificates from RRA.
To provide CVs, degrees for Required Staff, equipment, required references and other qualification requirement as per Instruction to Bidder (ITB) and Bid Data Sheet (BDS).
