Operating under the theme “Bringing clean water closer to citizens while promoting hygiene and sanitation,” the project is now providing residents with consistent access to safe water.
Technical and Operational Overview:
The project, which commenced in November 2025, included the construction of: •A 2.045 km water pipeline.
•Two water kiosks positioned 500 meters apart to ensure accessibility.
•Two management committees (consisting of 12 people each) who have been trained to oversee the maintenance and sustainability of the infrastructure.

Socio-Economic Outcomes:
The implementation of this system has led to several measurable improvements for the local community:
•Health and Hygiene: Access to treated water has replaced the use of unsafe, contaminated sources, leading to better sanitary conditions.
•Time Savings: Reduced distances to water points have lowered the physical burden on women and children, allowing more time for other activities.
•Local Employment: The project employed over 300 residents from the area.
This provided the necessary income for families to secure necessities like Mutuelle de Santé (health insurance) and has contributed to a decrease in cases of malnutrition.
Collaboration:
This project was made possible through the support of Neu Global, in coordination with Musanze District, WASAC and local leadership who facilitated the project’s execution and site selection.
The focus now shifts to the long-term management of these facilities to ensure they remain a reliable resource for the residents of Kabeza Cell.
