Supporting Nutrition, Sanitation, and Housing in Gitesi and Rugabano

In partnership with World Vision through the ISONGA Area Program (AP), essential support was distributed to vulnerable households in the Rugabano and Gitesi sectors of Karongi District.

The distribution exercise took place at the Gitesi Sector level and was attended by local authorities, including the Sector Executive in charge of Social Affairs and the Officer in charge of Social Welfare.

Through this initiative:

  • 116 households with children suffering from malnutrition received food and hygiene packages containing porridge flour, small dried fish (indagara), groundnuts, sugar, and laundry soap.

  • 78 households received iron sheets to roof their latrines, along with tippy taps to promote proper handwashing.

  • 11 households received iron sheets to improve the roofing of their homes.
